Day in the Park

We had a very fun day at the park today. It is always hard for me to get the boys together and get there but once I'm there, I am always glad that I made the effort. The boys had fun on the swings and the slide and it was such a beautiful day outside! I had something really weird happen to me yesterday. We went to my grandma's for a memorial day BBQ and to celebrate my grandma's birthday in the afternoon and I felt fine. Then just before we sat down to eat, I got so sick!! I had to go in the house and I was in pain and then Scott had to take me home. I was sick for about 30 minutes and then I was fine. Weird huh. Everybody thought that I had the flu that everyone in the family had a couple of weeks ago but a day later I'm still healthy as a horse. Go figure. I was kind of upset though that I missed all that good food though. Oh, well. I am happy that I'm not sick. That is wonderful. I don't know if I have put it on my blog that I have a new church calling. I am the primary secretary now and I love it. The administrative things I do I just love and I love being with the kids too. It is wonderful. It has been really great. This week is my last week being with my activity girls and I will miss them. I won't really be leaving them since I get to see them at church in Primary!! So that will be good.

May musings

I'm so glad we are done with sickness. Kael, Ammon and myself escaped it which was nice. Scott ordered all the stuff for his shed and so he will be busy building. He wants to get the garden tilled and ready to plant first and that is a job! Hopefully this weekend we will be able to work on it. This week I have been enjoying the fact that everyone has been healthy. I have been running at the Fitness center trying to get ready for the 5K I am running in June. I'm not much of runner so this has been a good experience to push myself and get out of my comfort zone. I have also been practicing my piano which I have just loved so much. I have been surprised at how much easier the hymns are to play. I guess practicing a little a day really does help! I'm still far away from my goal of playing all the hymns but instead of just being able to play two hymns, now I can play maybe 5 well and I can stumble through a few more. So if I just keep at it, I may reach my goal faster than I thought I could. Anyway, it has been nice that I have been able to do a few extra things like the garden and playing the piano now that Ammon is a little older. It is so nice to be out of survival mode. Ammon has been eating more solids and in just 2 1/2 short months, he will be ready to be weaned and I will have even more freedom. Time flies so fast. I can't believe that school is almost out. I have tried not to schedule too much for the summer so I can concentrate on the garden. I do have the kids signed up for a few things though. Kalli is going to a storybook camp and I have Aidan signed up for a Basketball camp. Kalli and Aidan will be going to swim lessons a little later in the summer and I want to sign Kael up for scout camp. Hopefully I can encourage Kael to get a lot of his scouting done this summer. I bought some workbooks for the kids to do also and I want to encourage them to be reading all summer long. I have been reading some fun books. One book I really enjoyed was The Wednesday Letters by Jason Wright. That was a really good book. I am reading Rebecca of sunnybrook Farm and am enjoying that. I need to just make sure that I don't read too much so that I get all my necessary stuff done first! I get into a book and it is hard to put it down. Well, enough of my ramblings. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Answer to the question

I asked a question in my blog Who will the sickness strike next. Unfortunately, I already have an answer to the question: My husband Scott. Now half the family has had it or has it. Now it is just me, Kael and Ammon left. i guess there are worse things that could happen.

Sickness strikes Part 2

This is a picture of Aaron on Tuesday when he was so sick he just slept on the bathroom floor. I'm glad he is feeling better.

Sickness strikes

Well, this is definitely not the way to put weight on my kids. They got the stomach flu. Aaron got it on Tuesday--puking and diarrhea--not fun! The same day, my mom, dad, sister and nephew suffered from the same thing. The next day, my other sister got it. Last night, right when Aaron was totally recovered, Aidan threw up. I was up all night with him--poor thing. He asked me at about 3 a.m. "Mom when will I stop being sick?" I told him "Hopefully soon!" Then this morning, Kalli came upstairs looking like death warmed over. She had been throwing up all night. So today has been kind of hard but not because of two sick kids. They have been lethargic and sleeping most of the day. It's been Aaron that has been a little pill! Back to his old self! I have been wanting to just tie him to a chair or something! I have been spoiled the last three days because I haven't had to chase him. Oh, well. It is good to see him feeling well. Now we are just waiting to see if the other half of the family gets this flu as well. I have been going around the house with Clorox wipes cleaning everything. As if that's going to help! My brother's entire family of six all got the flu last week and I just don't want to see baby Ammon get sick. I wouldn't like to get sick either for that matter! I'm just waiting....who else is next?
