More Family Pics

I liked these family pictures that we had from the summer so I thought I would post them. Scott bought me a nice 11x14 frame and so I was looking through all my pics to see which one I wanted developed. In most of the extended family ones, Aaron has his finger up his nose!!! I guess I need to learn how to use Photo shop. I guess this shows the REAL Wendt family. Aaron and Ammon looking away and with their fingers where they are not supposed to be!!!

My Fun Sunbeam

Today Aaron got to go to primary for 20 minutes. His Sunbeam-to-be class wore Sunbeam Crowns that Sister Becky made them and they got a taste of primary. They were glued to their nursery teacher's lap as they sang the songs. Aaron was on his teacher's lap too but I got such a kick out him. The chorister asked for favorite songs to sing and Aaron says, "Little Purple Pansies" so we sing that. Then Aaron says, "Now Popcorn Popping!" so we sing that. Then he says, "Book of Mormon Stories!" Then, "Now Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" He had a list of songs that he wanted to sing. I think he had a great time. I am worried about the transition next week of nursery to Sunbeams. No more snack time, no more toys, new teachers, sigh....... I did this with three other kids, you would think that I would not be so worried about it. Oh, Well. Hopefully soon I will have a post with how well he is doing in Primary! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! I am hoping to get Christmas pictures posted soon!

Christmas Eve

Well, tonight is the big night! I can't believe how fast Christmas comes and goes every year. Last year was the first year of a new tradition that we started. We used to get together with extended family on Christmas Eve and have dinner and a program. But, the family is just getting so big that now we have just a family dinner on another night (not Christmas Eve) and now the Scott Wendt family has their own dinner and program on Christmas Eve. Tonight we invited Grandma and Grandpa and Katie and Grandma (great) and (aunt) Mary Ann to dinner and the program. It should be a lot of fun. I've got the turkey ready to go in the oven early this afternoon, the 10-lb bag of potatoes are sitting and waiting to be peeled and mashed, and I made Lionhouse Rolls yesterday so they are good to go. Today will be a busy day of cooking and cleaning the house. I'm so glad that all the gifts are wrapped and ready to go--that is one more thing on my list that can be checked off! Some sad news is my kids were looking forward to seeing their Grandma Wendt on New Years Eve but this week when she was Christmas caroling, she slipped and fractured her hip. Yesterday she was in surgery and they put three screws in it and she will be laid up for about six weeks in Idaho. I guess these things happen. We wish her a Merry Christmas! Well, I hope that everyone has a safe and happy holiday and hopefully I will get pictures of Christmas posted before the new year! Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Putting up the Christmas tree

This is our FHE we had November 30th putting up our Christmas decorations and our Christmas tree. The kids had a lot of fun helping put the tree together and decorating it. It has been a challenge to keep Aaron and Ammon away from the ornaments but they are getting better. It is not such a novelty so they are only touching it occasionally. I love this Christmas season and I only hope that we can teach our kids the true meaning of Christmas and get rid of all the "gimme's".

Dramatic Kalli

Kalli has been having fun in her school Drama club and last Friday they performed their play. She played "Little Red Riding Hood" and she was so cute. She has a flair for the dramatic. I'm sure she will be joining the Drama club next semester she enjoys it so much. Westmore is doing the musical "Annie" and she very much wants to be a part of that.

Primary is awesome!

I have had the wonderful experience the past two weeks of getting a new calling in our ward. I have so loved my calling as Primary secretary in the ward. It has been so fun to see the kids, and hide in the back and be in the background. I love the administrative details of being secretary and I loved being associated with Debbie, Jayna and Chris who made up the presidency. It was so fun to meet every week and visit and discuss the children. I can remember many times when Debbie would decide something and I would think to myself, "Boy, I'm sure glad I'm not president. I could never do that." Well, I have been given a wonderful opportunity to grow and progress. Sunday, Nov. 15th I had an appointment with the Bishop. I was convinced that it was something for Scott. When the Bishop extended the calling, I was very stunned. That was last thing I expected!!! When I got home, I just could feel a change come over me. That whole week, I just did so much better doing the things that I needed to do like reading my scriptures, saying my prayers. I just felt (and still do feel I might add) so dependent on Him. I just kept saying, "I can't do this by myself! I need thy help!) Since I got this calling, I have felt the Spirit stronger in my life. I have been able to make better choices because it is always in the back of my head that I need the Spirit with me because I just can't do this alone. I have been so amazed at how much love I feel from Him. Also, this calling has made me realize how important ALL callings are in the church. I have been so appreciative of the faithful teachers and others who do their callings so well and so dependably. Anyway, it is an adventure and I have learned so much in the last two-three weeks and I'm sure I have tons more to learn!! I am so grateful for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and so glad for my membership. I know that the Savior lives and loves me. I won't promise that I'll be the best president in the world (I sure have some big shoes to fill!) but I will promise that I will give it my best effort and I will work hard. It is so humbling to be a leader, especially to those I consider my mentors. Primary is awesome!

Thanksgiving and Holidays past!

I don't have any pictures for this blog but I figured it has been so long I better update. Scott just rebuilt our computer because we got virus' again. So I was offline for about two weeks. I hate not being able to blog, or check my facebook or my email. I do that so much every day. I have plenty happen the last couple of weeks though to keep me busy while I was offline! Thanksgiving was awesome! We went to my mom and dad's house and all my siblings but my brother and sister-in-law in Kentucky were able to come. It was definitely a full house! My mom went all out and made these cute place cards so we all knew were we sat. Emma's in-laws came too and that was fun to see them. The kids made turkey hats while they waited to eat. Then we got in line and loaded up our plates buffet style. Then we all stuffed ourselves silly with food! It was wonderful! Then we celebrated our November birthdays in the Pyne family. Of course I had left all the presents home so I had to run home and get them but luckily we are only five minutes away!!! It was wonderful to spend the time with the family. Saturday, we came over to the Pyne's again to watch the BYU-U of U football game. My mom fed us pizza and goodies and then my sisters and sister-in-laws and I left the boys to the game and kids and went shopping! That was a lot of fun! Monday, November 30th we put up our Christmas tree for Family Home Evening and it has been so fun to have the Christmas decorations up. I love this time of year.
