So Saturday was Scott and my 17th wedding anniversary and we went to the Anniversary Inn. We stayed in the Italian Room (Venice) which was so awesome. It had a fountain and a jetted tub and it was so awesome! My parents and sister took care of my kids while we were gone. It was so nice to get away and not have responsibility for a little while. The break did me good. We went to the Salt Lake Temple Saturday which was awesome except that I coughed through the whole session. It was neat to see all the young couples getting pics taken on the temple grounds. Except they looked so young! I was never that young was I? Time flies so fast. It seems like yesterday that Scott and I were newlyweds and we have been moving through the stages of life. It is going to fast...soon we will have a missionary and then we will have an empty nest before we can blink! Anyway, it was nice to have some time alone and I so appreciate my family for making it possible because I know my boys are a lot of energy!

Utah Weather
How about that Utah weather! Yesterday we got a record amount of snow for
this late in the year.
Our poor garden got covered. But today it is 70 F and sunny. Go figure. I love this kind of weather we are having today. It makes me so excited for the summer and all the fun things we do when the weather warms up. I added a picture of my two youngest. they really keep me hopping. But I love them so much. Aaron has been enjoying riding his new scooter outside in this beautiful weather. I love the last week of school! The kids have so many fun activities. Today Aidan and Kalli did their dance festival. Aidan did a dance to "Skit, skat, groove" and Kalli did the "Haka" It is just fun to be with the elementary school community and to be outside in the wonderful weather.

Kalli's play Annie
The top left picture is Kalli dressed as the orphan Molly in her play. Her friend Kaylee was Annie and that is the top right picture. Her principle was Daddy Warbucks and he did a fabulous job. He even shaved his head for the part. The bottom picture was Kalli's really good friend Haley that did a fabulous job as Miss Hannigan and her friend Elizabeth that played a police officer. The kids really did a great job with their play. My favorite was the songs. Especially it's a hard knock life and NYC. Kalli liked EZ street and LIttle girls. I thought Haley did an awesome job as Miss Hannigan. And of course Kalli did such a good job that at the beginning I was looking for her and couldn't see her because I didn't recognize her because she was acting so well!!! I am so glad so much of my extended family was able to come and see her. My parents and grandma and aunt and 2 sisters and brother-in-law and brother and good friend Susan were all there to support her. That makes all the difference when you have so many good people supporting you! Great job Kalli!
Eggs anyone?
So this morning when I was cleaning up Aaron in the bathroom from a poop accident, Ammon had his own agenda. Three days ago he learned how to unlatch the latch that locks the fridge and I have constantly been trying to keep him out of the fridge. So he decided to get the eggs out. So after cleaning up one mess with one kid, I come into the kitchen to another mess. All in a days work of a parent, right? I love the expression on his face though--he really didn't know he did anything wrong.
Garden 2010
We got our garden planted last Saturday which was very fun. Aidan and Aaron got to help Scott plant the corn. They enjoyed that. We planted squash, peppers, tomatoes, beans, corn, zuchini, and pumpkins. Our peas are coming up pretty good. I am really resolved this year to do a better job of harvesting our garden. We have a big garden but hopefully we can keep it weeded this summer. That is always a challenge. The irrigation water once a week really helps and our garden usually grows well. Here's hoping for 2010!

Bathtime!
So the other night, the family was in the livingroom watching a movie. I had put Aaron in the bath to get him ready for bedtime and I was going back and forth from the bathroom and livingroom, watching the movie and checking on him. Ammon really wanted a bath with him but I had already gotten him ready for bed so I kept telling him, "No!" No he can't formulate the sentence, "I want to take a bath with Aaron," yet but he was whining and pulling on my arm and I kept getting him out of the bathroom. Well, the message was clear when obviously I had gotten too much into the movie and I hear from Aaron, "Mom! Ammon's in the bathroom!" I ran in there but it was too late. I grab the camera, take a picture, then strip him and say, "You win! You can have a bath!" Boy, he is persistant!
Happy Mother's Day!
I hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day! I was a little overwhelmed in the morning trying to get my sharing time together for Primary but after church was great! Scott helped me make dinner and we cooked some recipes from my new "Food Storage made easy" cookbook. We made Vegetable rice pilaf and Meat Ring (like Meatloaf...one of Anita Stansfield's recipes from one of her books.) Anyway, we had a good time visiting my grandma, aunt and my parents in the evening. It was so good to see all my siblings (except one--happy mother's day late Steph!) The cousins enjoyed playing with each other and being together and we had a good time visiting. Happy Mother's Day to the best mother in the world. My mom is always there for me. There have been a few times in my life where I have had to call her in the middle of the night to come sit with my kids while we took a child to the E.R. and she did it willingly and cheerfully. I always feel like I can call her and she will help me with anything. She is smart, kind, generous, and if I kept on with the adjectives this post would be way long. Anyway, thanks Mom for everything you do! I love you!

my boys
this is a picture of all my boys. I am so lucky to have them. It has been so fun to watch them grow. Kael is paving new territory for us all working on getting his driver's license, his Eagle Scout award and enrolling in concurrent enrollment for high school and college credits. Aidan is at the end of first grade and I can't believe he will be 7 this summer! Seven sounds so much older than six!!! Aaron is maybe going to preschool this Fall, he is on the waiting list for a school and I'm just praying he gets in! And Ammon is just turning into a little boy instead of being a little baby! it has been so fun to watch Ammon grow. He is learning new words and just being more aware of the world. I love my boys!!!
Our latest project
Derby Days
So for Activity days a couple of weeks ago, the girls competed in a Pinewood Derby. Kalli sure had fun making her car with her dad. But they were working on up until the last second. They were just puttting the wheels on it minutes before they started racing the cars. Unfortunately, they didn't put any weights on her car (ran out of time) so it was really light. Kalli felt bad that she lost every single race. But she had a good time building her car with Dad so that was good. They also had a BBQ beforehand with the girls and their dads and I got a picture of the cute cake they had. I thought it was a great Daddy/daughter date idea!
