Girls night out

This is a picture of me and my two sisters. Susan is taking the picture. The four of us went to Mountain View's Sound of Music on Friday night and we enjoyed it so much. I really was impressed with their voice talent. I love the music from that play anyway!!! It was also nice that my husband and older children watched the baby so that I was able to enjoy it. I can't tell you how wonderful and recharging it was to be able to go and not worry about kids! I am so blessed and spoiled. But it doesn't stop there!! Not only was I able to have fun on a girls night on Friday, I had one on Saturday too!!!! Thank you so much to my hubby for not making a big deal of me being gone two nights in a row!! My mom, sister-in-law, two sisters and brother-in-law and nephew went to Twilight on Saturday night!! I enjoyed it so much. The movie was so fun!! I laughed almost the whole way through--it was hilarious. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it that much if I hadn't read the book but I understood it pretty good because I had read the book. Anyway, thanks to my brother who made it possible for us to all go (he paid for it--he's so generous!) I feel so rejuvenated! It is amazing what a night out (or two nights out!) do for the energy level!!!

I really hate the wait at doctor offices....

I know that this is November--the month of Thanksgiving and counting our blessings. So first I will say that I am grateful that Kalli is healthy and that we live in a time that we can go to the doctor. Now I will do some complaining, get it out of my system and I will be fine. So I take Kalli up to Primary Children's yesterday to get her checked out by an endocrinologist that we have been seeing since last year. I make the effort to get to my appointment on time--it takes us an hour to get up there and yes I am on time--even a little early. We get in the waiting room and wait and wait and wait. Ammon was with us and was getting tired of the wait also. I tried to feed him some formula because it was just easier to feed him a bottle instead of nursing him. (I thought any minute now we will go into the exam room!) Well, I haven't given him a bottle for a couple of months now and he won't drink it now! So he fussed some more and finally went to sleep. So 40 minutes later, we finally get in the exam room. Kalli was a trooper. She was having a hard time being patient but she was! Then finally 20 minutes later the doctor shows up. Sigh. I understand that sometimes doctors get behind in their schedule but oy! One hour is a little bit much to be waiting for an appointment. The bottom line of Kalli's appointment was she grew enough this year that we don't need to take any action but the doctor was still hoping that she would have grown more than she did. She needs to make sure to take her vitamin and drink more milk! So we will see her again next year. I am so not looking forward to it. So next blog, I promise to count my many blessings instead of complaining!

Random 7

Annie tagged me so I will try and do this. Random seven things about me.

1. I love PBS cartoons. I will watch them even if my kids aren't there. During the two babies naptimes I like to watch Wishbone. I love Arthur and Cyberchase. Go figure.

2. I love being with my extended family. Especially during the holidays. Maybe it's because my mom's such a good cook and we eat so well!! I have also really enjoyed walking everyday on the track with my sister. It's been fun to get to know her better. I wish I had an excuse to spend more time with my other sister, too! Guess I'll have to make one up!

3. I love penguins. They are so cute! I think Kael is the one that got me obsessed with them. If it has a penguin on it, I'll probably buy it. (Kalli has penguin pajamas, i like penguin movies..the list goes on)

4. I hate conflict. I like to listen to talk radio but if I start hearing arguing on Doug Wright or Sean Hannity, I change the channel. I just can't stand to hear it!

5. I love pictures!! Whether it is taking pics on my digital camera or taking the kids to the portrait studio, I just love photos!!! I have taken over 3500 pictures on my camera in the 15 months I have owned it.

6. I love to go shopping! It doesn't matter if I buy anything, I just like to be in the store and be with people. Especially at Christmastime. I love to listen to the Christmas music and see the decorations around and just bask in the season!!

7. I love talking on the phone. Just ask Kael. I guess I just like talking in general too. I know sometimes I talk too much. Sorry!

Scott is such a great dad!

Scott is such a good dad! I love how he loves his kids and plays with them and roughhouses with them. I know he comes home from work exhausted sometimes but he is so good at leaving work at work and he spends time with our kids. I am so grateful for him.

Randoms thoughts on this fine Thursday

Two days ago I was trying to get on my blog and I got the blue screen of death on my computer. Scott fixed the problem and I am back again. I really am getting sick of the computer dying on me!! Today was a good day but I am so tired. I walked two miles on the track this morning with my sister, Emma and my friend Susan which was wonderful. I always feel so good after a good workout. The boys and I got home at noon and I rushed around trying to get my boys fed and get Aidan to kindergarten. Then I finally got to play with the baby while Aaron napped. Ammon was so smiley today and interactive. He is three months now and he is just growing so fast. I love to hear his happy sounds and see him smile! I'm glad I got some time alone with him today. It was so fun. Anyway, tonight I had to make sure dinner was made early because I had my activity day girls over. We made babysitting kits which was fun.
Well, nothing exciting to write. Something funny that Kalli said after hearing the outcome of the election: "I don't want Barack Obama as the president! My friend said he was adding two more hours of school per day!" I don't know where kids get these ideas. She makes me laugh. God Bless America!

The housework never ends......

I love it when I can get my house clean. It feels so good to work hard and see a job well done. I love the satisfaction you feel when you look around and see the fruits of your labors. The above pictures are the reasons why I have been having troubles feeling this wonderful feeling. This morning I was trying to vacuum up the rice trail that Aaron was making all over the floor. I turned off the vacuum and he was back. I chased him into the kitchen and finally wised up and took the rice away from him and then vacuumed again!!! Sigh. I keep telling myself that my babies are so much more important than keeping the house clean. I can make it so I don't live in a pigsty but the pristine, crystal clean house is for when I have no kids living at home. After saying all this though, I really am grateful for my mess makers. My life would not be the same without them and I love them so much!!!

Happy Halloween!

Ammon's costume kept plopping in his face poor thing! It barely fit him everywhere else but the head part was way too big. He tolerated his Halloween costume all day but I don't think he liked it very much! The other kids had a great Halloween. They got a ton of candy at Scott's work going cubicle to cubicle and we had doughnuts and cider after. Then we went to my Grandma's for a Halloween party with my extended family. We watched Arsenic and Old Lace a funny Cary Grant movie. That is one of my favorites. The kids had a good time with their cousins. I'm glad it is over though. It was a very busy and chaotic day. I had the kids Halloween parade at the school early in the afternoon (I missed Kalli because I got there late. I was feeding the baby!!) Anyway, we had a good day. But it was so busy.

I have a wonderful Husband!

This morning I got to play and be with friends at Nancy's baby shower which was wonderful. It was so fun to see Nancy's new house and be with ward family and see Tish again (who moved away four years ago). It was a nice break to be away from home and housework and kids. I had the baby with me but he was pretty good so that was okay. I came home and Scott had all the kids working hard and he had snaked out my kitchen sink so it wasn't plugged up anymore and I don't have to worry about calling a plumber now!! I am so relieved that I don't have to do my dishes in the bathtub today!!! Hope everyone has a great day today. I can't believe it is November already!!!
