Clean vs. Messy: Who will win?

Why do kids love to make messes and live in a mess? This is a really a stupid question I know. Today I don't care that they like living in a mess. Today I will prevail. I will get my house clean today. It just takes a few minutes right? I am in a wierd mood today and I feel like I would just for once like to live in a clean house. Is that too much to ask? So Aaron is now napping (1 p.m.) and the kids will be home from school soon (to add to the mess again) so I better get working!!!! I will write an update soon to let you know if this ever worked.

I understand your question, completely. Why do our kids insist on living in filth?

Keep the faith! Clean will prevail...someday!
Speaking of which did you see Oprah on Friday. She had Peter Walsh from Clean Sweep (one of my favorite shows back when I had cable). Anyways it was so good, it lit a fire under Erik to clean up our bedroom. (we watch it at night when it is rebroadcast)It's so much nicer. I will enjoy it while I can.

Totally know what you mean! As soon as (or before) I've got everything cleaned up, the cyclone blows through, and everything's out again! It wouldn't be so bad if I knew the kids would pick it up when they were done...but inevitably it's "reminders", "absolutes", "not until you's" and ultimately "me helping with the things they can't put back how they were".... sigh. Bummer... I guess there are good days and bad days... We'll get them to do it just in time for their turn to teach their own kids...hee hee hee. (: Then, the house will be mine (oh, and David's too.). (:
