Deep thoughts this Monday morning

Ammon is getting to be such a little man. He's still my baby but he is getting to be less a baby every day. It is so fun to observe the different things he learns every day. I really enjoyed General Conference last weekend. I have been watching the news and thinking about how President Packer's talk has been "protested". I wish people would understand that his talk was given in love and we don't hate anyone. The doctrine that he gave is true and protesting it will not change it. I am not very good with words and today I wish I was. I wish that I could explain well how I believe that man and woman are ordained to be married and have children and that is the plan but I don't hate people that don't believe the way that I do. What kind of world will it be when Ammon is in jr. high in 10 years. Will there be people teaching at the schools that the way I don't believe is the norm? I guess I have to try and stay positive and take one day at a time and teach my children the way I feel best and hope that they can make good choices. Well, off my soap box. I hope I haven't offended anyone but this is my blog and I can write whatever I want!

On a positive note, I am so excited for Thursday because my sister Katie is getting married! Besides the fact that I love weddings, I am just excited because Katie found such a great guy to marry. I really am impressed with how he speaks to her so respectfully and kindly. I want to try and follow his example and speak better to my family. It is so easy to treat the ones you love the worst! Scott's siblings are all married and this is my last sibling to get married so the next wedding in the family will probably be in a few years with my kids! Circle of Life.....Well, just some thoughts for a lovely Fall day.

I didn't hear about people protesting Pres. Packer's talk. That's ridiculous. Don't they have anything better to do? Anyway Kari, don't worry about offending people. The way I see it, if they take offense to the truth, that's their problem. By the way, congrats to your sister!
