Random Thoughts

I just had some random thoughts I thought I would throw out to the cosmos in cyberspace today.  I am feeling a little tired this afternoon probably because A) I stayed up way too late last night and B) I walked 21 laps around the Fitness center track this morning (about 3 miles) and I haven't been for a week.  I love how feel after I exercise but if I don't do it consistently, I always seem to feel so tired and sore. When I put it my routine more, I feel energized and I feel so good.  Also, this week, I have been eating so unhealthily.  I have been eating more chocolate than usual (probably because of Valentines Day, I have more around the house than usual) and I haven't been eating the best foods.  It is funny that I know in my head that if I eat right, I'll feel better and then I eat lousy and my body feels horrible.  Why do I do that?  Plus, I have been staying up later than usual watching movies with husband.  It is nice to spend some time with him but I am just so tired in the morning from staying up so late.  So I will try and do better to eat right, sleep better and exercise more! Good goals. Hopefully I can keep them.
Today I had a second of fame on KSL radio. I was so proud...:-) I am a big fan of the Browser, a radio show that is on 1-3 p.m. M-F on 102.7 FM.  I love their show! Amy Iverson and Jay MacFarlane host the show and I am friends on Facebook with Amy.  She asked a general question about anyone's thought on Watson on Jeopardy.   There were three shows where Watson (a computer) went against Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter.  The winner got 1 million dollars.  Scott and I watched the second day and I wasn't very impressed. It wasn't very fun watching Ken get beat by a computer. I am a big Ken Jennings fan.  So Watson ended up with $77,000, Ken with $24,000 and Brad with $21,000 at the final show.  Anyway, I had replied to Amy's question on facebook and she said on air today, "Kari says,....."and then she quoted some of what I said (which is not important so I won't write what I said...)  I am so pathetic...I was like, "She was quoting me on the radio!!!" Anyway, kind of fun....
Well busy night tonight. I'm making dinner for a girl in our ward that had twins (so fun!) and then I have roundtable for scouts tonight. I love being busy and I love all the many opportunities I have had lately. Scott doesn't have school this week which is nice because Kael doesn't have to babysit and he can get his stuff done.  Also, this afternoon, I put Ammon in underwear and so far he has stayed dry. I really need to commit and potty train him but it is so hard to take him out of diapers. I would love to be done with diapers but he doesn't know what he is doing yet and I'm just cleaning up messes. I know I shouldn't be taking him out of underwear and putting him back to diapers and going back and forth because it is confusing. It actually was his idea this afternoon...he asked me if he could wear underwear. He is so excited about being a big boy.

I listen to The Browser too when I pick the kids up from school so it's only for about 30 min. but I love it. I think it is really cool that Amy quoted you!

I have Megan in underwear now too. She is 3 1/2. I have tried to potty train her for a year now and everytime I put her in underwear she just made messes. Some people have patience for the messes but I don't. If she made no attempt at even heading to the bathroom or trying to hold it in for two days in the underwear I would just put diapers back on and try again latter. As much as I hate the cost of diapers I hate cleaning those messes more. Last week she actually went on the potty for the first time and so I kept her in underwear. She is doing very well and is now fully potty trained after only one week. I think potty training is a personal decision that is different for everyone and every child (Megan took the longest to get the idea) so you do what ever is best for you. Switching back and forth from undies to diaper won't confuse them when they are ready. Good luck.

How FUN to be quoted on the radio - you should totally enjoy that!
What do you do in scouts?
I can't even think about potty training Jared right now... maybe in a few months. ;D

You go Ammon. Your cousin Marix is very very behind you. I am not even going to try untill he is three. I love your random thoughts. I am with you on exercise and eating. I know its going to make me feel lousy, but I eat it anyways because it tastes so good at the time. I hate losing baby weight, it is so not fun.
