Never a Dull Moment!

I blogged almost three years ago about clean out my fridge and I'm ashamed to say that it's been three years now since we cleaned the fridge.  It was overdue. But Saturday we were forced into it! ;-) We came back from Idaho Saturday afternoon at about 1:00 p.m. and had lunch. We had a little bit of milk left so Kael pours himself a huge bowl of cereal and pours the milk. He grimaces and says, "This milk tastes funny!" He ended up throwing it out.  Later, Scott discovered that the fridge was off.  We don't know who but it was either Ammon or Aaron who turned it off before we left on our trip.  So the freezer was basically thawed and the fridge was not cold.  Everything was ruined. This is a picture of Scott cleaning out the freezer. I could not stomach it. He had his rubber glove and he cleaned out the gooey mess on the bottom of the freezer. It was really bad.  I threw away two full garbage bags of food.  (Then I went grocery shopping to restock!)  The silver lining is that now the fridge and freezer is sparkling clean and restocked with fresh food (including condiments).  Never a dull moment around the Wendt household. Next time we go on a long trip, I will definitely check to make sure the fridge is on but I would have never thought to do that before!!!
