Really, I'm not trying to stir the pot.

Here is the article in the Deseret News talking about the protest about his talk.

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/700072199/A-call-for-civility-following-Mormon-Apostle-Boyd-K-Packers-address.html

I just read another article about someone that started a Facebook page in support of President Packer. I'm glad that someone is being vocal about supporting him. It is just not him that is being supported though: It is truth. It is doctrine. It is the way it is. It is not a message of hate to gay people. I honestly believe that. I believe that President Packer is an apostle of the true church and his message is absolutely true.

Thanks for the link. It's sad that words are twisted so easily into conveying the opposite of what they meant in the first place.

Amen, Kari. You aren't stirring the pot. You are sharing your beliefs and opinion which I totally support. Way to go. It really is sad that words can to twisted to easily, as Ruth mentioned. Pres. Packers talk was not a hate message in the slightest, but some take the truth to be hard. Sad.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Kari,
We haven't heard about any protests where we live, but we don't live in Utah. I am sure it is horrible to have to listen to.
I thought Pres. Boyd K. Packer gave an excellent talk. He speaks truth. He is the Lord's representative and I know he is an apostle. Simple fact is that the guilty taketh the truth to be hard. Marriage between man and woman is ordained of God. It is not only ordained of God, it is essential to the eternal plan.

There will always be those who choose to persecute the Saints and criticize.

I absolutly loved President Packer's talk. I don't think people know how bad things have gotten in certain areas. Living in the Bay area smack in the middle of the Prop 8 ordeal, and having to literally fight for my beliefs daily has strenthened my testimony in ways I cant describe. When you are surrounded by those that believe very different than you do, you begin to not accept, but tollerate a lot. His talk about the laws of GOD being stronger than the LAWS of man, helped my heart. There really is something worth fighting for, even though everyone else thinks you are discriminating. I agree that the guilty take the truth to be hard. The Lord is in control, and for that I am so greatful. This is also a big reason that I am homeschooling my kiddos.
