New Couch

So this is our new couch that we bought last weekend and they finally delivered it today. Sometimes when I want something, I don't think things through as well as usual. So, Friday, I was just so anxious to get my new couch, all I could think was, "I got to get rid of the old one so there is room!" It really is a neat story.....I really wanted our old couch to go to someone who really needed it. So I prayed, "Please let the couch find a good home with someone who really needs it!" I put a picture up on Facebook and that afternoon I had a response from someone I went to high school with ages ago. I wrote her back a private message with my cell phone number saying, How soon can you get it!!! I am not kidding--30 seconds after I posted the message she called me. She has been involved in setting up a home for Veterans and they needed a couch. So we made the arrangements and she drove down from Riverton with her boyfriend and picked it up!!!

So this is the way we lived for about four days. No couch....which was pretty inconvenient. I guess I should have thought, oh, I should find out when the new couch will be here first! (That is what I didn't think through very well...that we wouldn't have a couch for a few days.) But, anyway, right after they left, I went and bought our new dual reclining microfiber cocoa colored couch and the soonest they could deliver was today, Wednesday! Oh, well. Now the kids will really appreciate it because they are sick of sitting on the floor! We do have a little loveseat but mom and dad get to sit in it before they do!!!!

So this is the old couch....I am thrilled that it has a wonderful home and will be used. It was my in-laws couch when they were on their mission in Salt Lake two years ago and then Roy got pancreatic cancer. The last day that I saw my Father-in-law alive was 2 years ago when they brought the couch to us. It has good memories and I'm not sorry we had it. But it wasn't very comfortable for me and the cushions always came out and it was a tall person's couch not for a shorty like me. Anyway, we will enjoy our new couch so much. It is the first couch that Scott and I have ever bought in nearly 17 years of marriage. Thank goodness for a good tax refund this year so we could get a new couch and trip to Disneyland!
